What can little money do? It’s worth thinking it over.
A few weeks ago, I got $120 from a friend in a Smile Group. He asked me to do good things with the money. Since then I have used the money to help strangers, and raised a lot of smiles.
One day I was in a shop, looking at the second-hand books. It happened that the book shelves(架子)were next to the toy shelf. I noticed that a poorly dressed woman standing behind me. A little girl about 3 years old came over to the toy shelf. At once her attention was caught by a toy dog. She spoke to her mother and her mother asked the shop owner how much it cost. The answer was $3. Then she said "no". The child said nothing. Maybe "no" was not new for her but she couldn't keep the disappointment away from her face.
I had a total of $5. I put the money in the mother's hand and said, "Buy her a book too.” I didn't wait to see the end. I walked out of the shop.
The money the friend gave me was to help me find happiness in the world. Was there any better way to get so much happiness with so little money?

Students these days often have a lot of worries. Sometimes they have problems with their schoolwork, and sometimes with their friends. ▲ . Some people think the worst thing is to do nothing. Laura Mills, a teenager from Washington, agrees. “Problems and worries are normal in life,” says Laura. “But I think talking to someone helps a lot. If we don’t talk to someone, we’ll certainly feel worse.”
Laura once lost her purse, and worried for days. She was afraid to tell her parents about it. She even walked three miles to school each day because she didn’t have any money. She just kept thinking. “If I tell my parents, they’ll be angry!” But in the end, she talked to her parents and they were really understanding. Her dad said he sometimes made careless mistakes himself. They got her a new purse and asked her to be more careful. “I will always remember to share my problems in the future!” Laura says.
Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels the same way as Laura. “It is best not to avoid our problems. We should always try to solve them.” He thinks that you can first find someone to talk to. This person doesn’t need to be an expert (专家) like himself. Students often forget that their parents have more experience than them, and are always there to help them.
In English, we say that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. So you’re halfway to solving a problem if you talk to someone about it!
48. Which of the following can be put in the blank in Paragraph One?
A. What can they do about this? B. Where do the problems come from?
C. When did they have these problems? D. Why do they have so many problems?

Different colours can affect us in many different ways, according to Allen. In her new series "Colour me Healthy", Allen looks at the ways that colours can influence how hard we work and the choices we make. They can even change our feelings and even influence how healthy we are.
"Have you ever noticed how people always use the same colours for the same things?" says Allen. "Our toothpaste(牙膏) is always white or blue or maybe red. It's never green. Why not? For some reason we think that blue and white is clean, while we think of green products to be a bit disgusting. It's the same for businesses. We respect a company which writes its name in blue or black, but we don't respect one that uses pink or orange. People who design new products can use these ideas to influence what we buy."
During this four-part series, Allen studies eight different colours, two colors in each programme. She meets people who work in all aspects of the colour industry, from people who design food packets, to people who name the colours of lipsticks. Some of the people she meets clearly have very little scientific knowledge to support their ideas, such as the American "Colour Doctor" who believes that serious diseases can be cured by the use of coloured lights. However, she also interviews real scientists who are studying the effects of green and red lights on mice, with some surprising results.
Overall, it's an interesting show, and anyone who watches it will probably find out something new. But because Allen makes a special effort to be polite to everyone she meets on the series, it's up to you to make your own decisions about how much you should believe.
51. According to Allen in Paragraph 2, why is a knowledge of colour important?
A. It can help you choose the best products. B. It can help you save a lot of money.
C. It can help cure serious diseases. D. It can help you sell products.
52. The underlined word "disgusting" probably means_______.
A. pleasant B. popular C. unpleasant D. unpopular
53. Which of the following would be the best title for the text?
A. Enjoy it, but don't believe everything.
B. Another great show from Allen!
C. Don't miss this if you work in Business!
D. Watch this programme! It will make you healthy!

Now, public bikes are provided for people in Jiangyin. I think it's a good thing.
Firstly, bikes are much more convenient than cars and almost all communities have bicycle parking lots . Secondly, as we know, there is heavy traffic when people go to school or work. If more people choose to ride bikes, there will be fewer cars and the streets won't be as crowded as they are now. Thirdly, we can ride bikes to keep fit. The most important thing is that riding bikes can help protect the environment because it won’t bring pollution to our environment.
I hope more and more people can ride bikes and live a low-carbon life.
